2015 NFL Draft: Steelers hosting three pre-draft visits Monday

The Steelers will be hosting a trio of players Monday at their South Side facility to get a better glimpse of what they bring to the table and whether they could be a draft choice for the team.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing their search for potential 2015 NFL Draft prospects by hosting three players Monday at their South Side facility. Those three players are Texax A&M tight end Cameron Clear, WVU guard Quinton Spain and Auburn WR Sammie Coates.

Cameron Clear has been on the team's pre-draft visit list for a while now, and with the Steelers need at the tight end position, you have to wonder if the Steelers won't spend a higher than normal draft pick at the tight end position. Clear comes with mixed emotions from experts. Big enough to be a good in-line tight end, but carrying almost 300-pounds limits his mobility and ability to stretch the field.

Sammie Coates is another player who has been on the team's visit list for some time now, and many found it surprising the team was interested in Coates. Coates posted tremendous yards-per-catch numbers in 2014 with the Tigers, but also struggled with several drops throughout the season. On top of the physical attributes, Coates has the perception of having a bad attitude.

Quinton Spain, new to the team's draft visit list, is a big guard who is projected to be a late round draft pick. Strong at the point of attack, but his hands are somewhat a concern at the NFL level. The Steelers are looking to add depth at the guard position, and would love to have a versatile interior lineman who can play all three interior positions as a back up to save roster spots for other players.

The Steelers will do their diligence in regards to these players, and only time will tell if any of these three are selected by the Steelers in the 2015 NFL Draft.
