2015 NFL Draft: Steelers host Randy Gregory and Devin Gardner Thursday

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted their biggest prospect of the offseason today when Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory met with the organization Thursday.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to roll out the red carpet for 2015 NFL Draft prospects, the most recent might have been the most significant as Nebraska pass rusher Randy Gregory visited the team facility Thursday. However, Gregory wasn't alone when he vsited the team. The Steelers also hosted Michigan WR Devin Gardner Thursday.

Although Gregory might get the publicity, there is a strong feeling he will be off the board before the Steelers select in the first round with the No. 22 pick. As great as landing a pass rusher like Gregory would be, it would most likely take the Steelers trading up from their current first round position, and that is a rarity with Kevin Colbert and company.

Gardner, the former QB transitioning to WR, from Michigan is an interesting prospect for the Steelers to bring in. Gardner, who ran a 4.65 40-yard dash at Michigan's pro day, was a mobile quarterback with elusiveness and had more than enough ability to make plays with his legs.

For Steelers fans this should sound familiar, the team has a history of bringing in quarterbacks who transition to the WR position. Hines Ward was a former quarterback as was Antwaan Randle El. Maybe Gardner will be the latest QB turned WR to grace the steel city.
