2015 NFL Draft: Jason La Confora's mock draft has Steelers selecting Marcus Peters in 1st Round

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team very much in need of secondary help. They address this need in the latest mock draft by CBSSports.com insider Jason La Confora.

The Pittsburgh Steelers ranked 27th against the pass in 2014. Numbers which weren't indicative of just how bad the team's pass rush was at times. In CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Confora's latest mock draft, he has the Steelers addressing that need for secondary help with the team taking Marcus Peters with the 22nd overall pick.

Peters has his baggage, along with plenty of other NFL prospects in 2015, but his issues were more about maturation than something off the field like drug charges. Not to make the maturation issues any less significant, but the Steelers very well might believe under the careful watch of Mike Tomlin and the close knit locker room of the Steelers, they could right the ship.

See what La Confora has to say about the pick:

22. Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Marcus Peters: The Steelers aren't a team that gambles on character kids that often, and they have their reservations about Peters, but I've heard he is on their board and with four corners gone already this could come down to Peters vs. Jalen Collins as to which corner they take.

La Confora seems to hint at having insight regarding the team's draft board, but the simple fact Peters is on their board isn't necessarily shocking news. The Steelers need help at cornerback and brought Peters in for a pre-draft visit...of course he is on their draft board.

Nonetheless, experts alike think Peters and Trae Waynes are the most NFL-ready cornerbacks in the draft, and although the Steelers taking Peters would certainly have it's question marks, the decision could possibly pay huge dividends for the team moving forward.
