Pass rusher or cornerback, that is the question - at least for Pittsburgh Steelers fans concerned about which direction the team will go with their first round pick in the upcoming 2015 NFL Draft. Experts have shown the Steelers taking a defensive tackle, a wide range of cornerbacks and on occasion a pass rusher.
CBSSports.com released their first Mock Draft, and they have the Steelers selecting Bud Dupree, pass rusher from the University of Kentucky.
Many experts see Dupree being off the board before the Steelers select with the 22nd overall pick, but even with Dupree's tremendous 'upside' and great combine workouts, he is still very raw and in need of solid coaching and experience before he becomes a force at the NFL level.
See what CBSSports.com had to say about the pick:
22. Pittsburgh Steelers -- Kentucky DE/OLB Bud Dupree: With Jason Worilds retiring and Jarvis Jones not living up to his first round draft slot, pass rusher is a strong possibility here. Dupree isn't yet the sum of his parts, but the natural traits are more promising than what Jones has to offer.
As they say, Dupree isn't yet the sum of his parts, but many, including myself, see this young man being off the board before the Steelers make their selection on April 30th. With Dupree still considered a project by many, the question remains will the Steelers take a project with plenty of 'upside' over a cornerback who might be more prepared to produce at the NFL level earlier.
Pass rusher or cornerback, that is the question.
