After two straight seasons of drafting in the mid-teens (17th and 15th respectively), the Steelers will have the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Steelers have addressed their defensive front seven with their last two first round picks, taking outside linebacker Jarvis Jones in 2013 and inside linebacker Ryan Shazier. With a record-breaking offense that will return to the field next year basically intact, fans will likely clamor for another defensive pick. Three consecutive picks on one side of the ball would be unprecedented during the Kevin Colbert Era in Pittsburgh, but a move that appears necessary, provided the right player is available.
Just like in 2014, the consensus opinion of fans will likely be with the selection of a cornerback. The team signed Cortez Allen to a long-term extension after only addressing the cornerback position in the fifth round of the draft - Arizona's Shaquille Richardson, who did not make the team and is currently out of the NFL. The team won't re-sign CB Ike Taylor, and has a reclamation project in Allen, who was benched and eventually placed on injured reserve.
Brice McCain, a free agent signing in 2014, is a free agent again, and Antwon Blake is an unrestricted free agent.
