Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers don't like to think about Super Bowl 45 very often. After all, watching the Green Bay Packers celebrate the Super Bowl victory is a sting which doesn't wear away quickly, if ever. Nonetheless, when the Packers travel to Heinz Field Sunday, it will put two of the most successful NFL franchises against one another.
The Steelers and Packers boast two of the best, and most complete, offensive units in the league behind two Pro Bowl quarterbacks in Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers. The wide receiving corps of both teams are simply outstanding with Jordy Nelson and Antonio Brown leading the way.
On the defensive side of the football lies the rub for both of these teams, especially Pittsburgh. Which team will be able to stand up and make plays when their team desperately needs it will be the defining factor in this game.
I know what you might be thinking, this is a preseason game...it does't count. You are correct, but when it comes to predictions, it makes it even more interesting. The Steelers starters will most likely play the first quarter, while the Packers might not play as much depending on the availability of certain players. Which team has the better backup players, and which team will put together scoring drives which lead to points?
This is where you come in. We want to know your prediction for the game. The predictions will be tallied, calculated and compared with the likes of Acme Packing Company (the Packers SB Nation blog), and we all know the Steelers and loyal BTSC readers are the best and smartest fans around...so time to prove it.
Jeff Hartman's (BTSC Editor) Prediction:
Steelers: 25
Packers: 24
