When it comes to 'owning' a team, New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady could certainly make such a claim regarding his history playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 4-time Super Bowl winning quarterback has shredded the Steelers on more than one occasion, as well as in the AFC's biggest stage, but that is all in the past.
In 2015, the two teams seem to be evenly matched, with both teams missing key players heading into the opening game. The Steelers will be without Maurkice Pouncey, Le'Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant, while the Patriots could be without center Bryan Stork, LeGarrette Blount and Brandon LaFell.
The players who won't be missing are Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, as well as Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown. This game has the looks of a shoot out, and it could certainly live up to the billing.
So, who will win? This is a tough spot for the Steelers as they aren't just playing on the road without some of their key offensive weapons, but are also having to go into the hostile environment which will be Gillette Stadium hosting the Super Bowl champions for the first time since they claimed their latest Super Bowl win over the Seattle Seahawks.
There are fans who think this game will be a blow out, but I don't see it that way. I think the Steelers offense makes enough plays to stay in the game, but when all is said and done it is simply too little, too late.
Jeff Hartman's Prediction (Editor of BTSC):
Steelers: 29
Patriots: 34
