Pittsburgh Steelers snap totals vs. the San Francisco 49ers

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to dominate the 49ers in every facet of Sunday's game. Let's take a look at the snap totals to find comparisons of the players who saw the field the most.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Throughout the chaos of the Pittsburgh Steelers' 43-18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, the Steelers' overall snap totals at key positions can be extremely telling in terms of the coaching staff's overall trust in a player. For instance, the Steelers Week-1 game against the Patriots saw the team deploy several three-safety sets which gave increased snap totals to Robert Golden in preference to Shamarko Thomas.

Similarly, in the Week-2 victory over the 49ers, the numbers can be telling. For example, is Bud Dupree's 51 defensive snaps versus Arthur Moats' 39 snaps a sign of things to come? Only time will tell, but as the saying goes, "the numbers never lie."
