Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers are spoiled. Whether you starting following the team in the 1970s when they won four Super Bowls, or in the late 1990s and early 2000s when the team boasted one of the greatest defenses in NFL history. Regardless, the names on those teams were beyond memorable, they were all-time greats.
Often times people wonder if the current crop of Steelers remember, care about or even think about the players who came before them. To say all of them do is an oversight, but there is one current member of the team's defense who certainly does appreciate and know who came before him. That individual would be none other than ILB Vince Williams.
Williams is a unique player, and not just on the field. He takes to social media in a different way that most people, and he decided to pay homage to the Steelers greats before him recently on Twitter.
I wanna be great. I want my life the be a model for greatness. I don't care if it's copied or completely original. I just seek results.

Deebo is greatness. I watch this man like a hawk and he is authentic.

I probably can't match their athleticism but their drive and tenacity i copied that verbatim #plagiarism lol

Williams shows not just his respect for those who came before him, but the desire to copy their style and continue the tradition which they set forth years before he was even a college prospect.
Williams, and the rest of the 2015 Steelers defense, would be wise to look back at previous players who donned the black and gold and were truly great throughout their time with the team. As Williams said, those players laid the foundation of which current Steelers should follow.
If the players are capable of doing just that, this 2015 Steelers defense could be something special.
