The Pittsburgh Steelers have made yet another roster move in reaction to an injured player. This time around it was second year LB Jordan Zumwalt who was placed on the waived/injured list. To fill his vacant roster spot, the team has signed LB L.J. Fort off waivers.
Zumwalt was placed on injured reserve for his entire rookie season after getting injured in training camp, and was able to see playing time throughout the 2015 preseason until an injury which kept him out of practice Monday was deemed severe enough for the team to part ways with the versatile inside linebacker.
Zumwalt, out of UCLA, was thought to be a linebacker who not only could stand out on special teams, but also play both inside and outside linebacker if necessary. His injury was not released to the public, but if he clears waivers will most likely reach an injury settlement with the team before becoming a free agent.
Coaches thought Zumwalt needed to practice harder and with more intensity. Looked better in games than drills

L.J. Fort was recently waived from the New England Patriots, which is how he was available to be signed by the Steelers after releasing Zumwalt.
