For Goodell's sake - Implement a cap penalty for game-related incidents!

I still think that the Patriots need to be on a sliding scale of punishment. And it does appear that they've received a notch above that which they received during spygate, but it's not enough to deter them from continuing to cheat. What would be enough? Something that damages their ability to win now. The Brady suspension does that, but that is Tom's penalty and not the correct penalty for the team. Team penalties should include the possibility of a cap penalty.

First offense: Cap penalty of $2 million and a first round draft pick for the following year and $1 million cap penalty for the next year. (Two year penalty)

Second offense: Cap penalty of $5 million and a first round draft pick, then $2 million cap penalty and a second round draft pick, then $1 million cap penalty and a third round draft pick. (Three year penalty)

Third offense: Cap penalty of $10 million and a first and second round draft pick, then $5 million cap penalty and a first round draft pick, then $2 million cap penalty and a second round draft pick, then $1 million cap penalty and a third round draft pick. (Four year penalty)

If they go beyond three offenses, then the team should be merged with the Redskins.
