Pittsburgh Steelers sign kicker Garrett Hartley

After the injury to Shaun Suisham, the Steelers acted fast to grab Garrett Hartley as a replacement kicker.

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

After learning yesterday that the Steelers would be without Shaun Suisham, Pittsburgh acted fast to sign free agent Garrett Hartley to the team.

Erik Burkhardt is Hartley's agent, reporting that Hartley will be signed with the Steelers after playing for the Cleveland Browns for a short period in the 2014 season.

Hartley is not the for sure kicker the Steelers will use for the season opener against the New England Patriots come September, however this move at least lets us know that the Steelers have someone to use for their upcoming preseason game this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hopefully Hartley is up to the task and will be able to prove as a reliable replacement for Suisham in 2015.
