Bad news for the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line as All-Pro Center Maurkice Pouncey left the game with an injury to his left ankle. The injury happened with just under two minutes left the first quarter of the second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers when HaHa Clinton-Dix fell into Pouncey's leg while tackling Le'Veon Bell.
Pouncey hobbled off the field grimacing. Later, he was seen being carted back into the locker room. It was confirmed he will not return to the game. He was replaced by backup center Cody Wallace.
In September 2013 Pouncey sustained a season-ending knee injury after Steelers guard David DeCastro accidentally hit his teammate's right leg while attempting a cut block.
