QB Michael Vick to meet with Pittsburgh Steelers

Could Michael Vick be the fix for a rough situation at backup quarterback for Pittsburgh?

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Reports are coming in this Tuesday morning that the Steelers are to meet with former quarterback to the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles and most recently the New York Jets, Michael Vick, will be meeting with the Steelers soon, possibly to discuss signing Vick to backup Ben Roethlisberger.

This came about because of yet another injury to the Steelers' most recent second string quarterback, Bruce Gradkowski, who recovered from being on the PUP list last week, only to suffer another serious injury during his first preseason appearance on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers at Heinz Field.

Landry Jones had what was undoubtedly his best performance of the 2015 preseason on Sunday, but is still not an obvious choice as the immediate player you would want in the game should Ben Roethlisberger ever suffer an injury.

Should Vick be signed, he would bring years of experience in the league as a quarterback who has led multiple teams to the playoffs and could be a viable option to replace Roethlisberger for a short term fix should he ever get injured. The last time the Steelers faced Vick, he helped the New York Jets upset the Steelers last season.
