Revisiting 10 questions about the Pittsburgh Steelers final 53: Part II

During the offseason, BTSC contributors wrote seemingly countless articles speculating on the preseason and key training camp battles. Dani Bostick will take a look at what was on BTSC's radar and how things actually panned out.

We are less than two weeks away from our season opener against the New England Patriots, and with most of the preseason under our belt, we have more clarity about questions posed back in July in two separate articles on the final 53-man roster.

For the first set of questions I revisited, click here.

Check out the set of questions this article revisits from July 2015.

1) Will the Steelers punter be Brad Wing or Jordan Berry?

Off season was a great time to obsess about punters. That has not changed in the preseason. Who will be the Steelers punter? Berry struggled early on in the preseason, but had several fantastic punts in the Steelers otherwise dismal game against the Buffalo Bills. This is one of the more intriguing camp battles and it is anyone's guess who will win a spot on the final roster.

2) Will there be any new offensive line players on the roster?

This question hurts. A lot. Maurkice Pouncey is sidelined with a serious injury. Cody Wallace has stepped up at center and Doug Legursky has returned to the team as well.

As for the new guys- Alejandro Villanueva did not have a great game against the Bills, but is still a possibility for the final roster especially with Mike Adams on PUP. Miles Dieffenbach was cut yesterday. There are still a few rookie linemen around, but I believe they are long shots for the final 53.

3) Will it be Josh Harris, Ross Scheuerman, or Cameron Stingily at RB?

Back in July I thought Harris had the best shot of all of these guys. I believe he will make the final 53 at running back along with Le'Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams. Dri Archer will make the team as a flex player.

Though Scheuerman and Stingily received some positive buzz earlier in the preseason, neither panned out for the Steelers.

4) What will happen at safety?

Hopefully not want happened against the Buffalo Bills! It is looking like Shamarko Thomas, Mike Mitchell, and Will Allen will be on the final roster. As four a fourth safety, it could be Robert Golden. As important as the personnel, however, is a smooth adjustment to Cover 2, which thus far has been a bit of a disaster.

5) Will there be any surprising developments at training camp?

There were too many surprises this year. I'll leave it at that.
