Deflategate: Brady's suspension eliminated; NFL loses

Tom Brady will play in the season opener against the Steelers

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Tom Brady's suspension was completely vacated today ending months of speculation about the deflategate decision and sending shockwaves around the NFL. That means the Patriots star quarterback will play in the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 10, and that emotions will likely be at a fever-pitch going into the game.

After months of legal wrangling, federal judge Berman decided that the NFL was out of line in imposing that consequence on the quarterback accused of being complicit in manipulating game-day balls below allowed inflation levels.

Reactions on Twitter were emotional:

The Steelers face the Patriots in Foxboro on September 10.
