So you're saying there's a chance?

They lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce every week. You know who they are.

Negative Nancies.

This week they had a 12 course meal presented before them to devour. It wasn't bad enough that Ben got hurt and will be out for the next 4 weeks. I say 4 because lets not kid ourselves, once that MCL is ready to go ( takes 2-4 weeks ), Ben will be ready to go. But Micheal Vick is our back up QB. Cue the instant reaction. You would think that Vick was Tim Tebow. @ How will they complete a forward pass tomorrow? @

Is it me or did ESPN completely forget the Steelers existed until Ben's injury? And I get it, the Steelers aren't particularly interesting otherwise. Micheal Vick is always interesting hence the increase in coverage. But seriously, talking heads really think the Steelers are going to go 0-4 against the following super teams:

Baltimore 0-3

San Diego 1-2

Arizona 3-0

Kansas City 1-2

Even Steeler fans have bought into this notion. While they may be right, I for one refuse to fall into this kind of negative thinking. I will readily admit that there will be a huge drop off from Ben to Vick. But here is the thing, with Ben this upcoming game against the Ravens is a blowout. Seriously, coming home against another bad team - thats what the Ravens are - who can't stop the pass and who's offense is well pedestrian. On a short week, on the road, thats a recipe for a blow out. So we're talking about what would be a 20+ victory dropping to a 3-7 point victory.

Is the Ravens defense better than the Rams? No.

Is the Ravens offense as good as the Rams? Yes. But not better.

So why is it so hard to believe that this steeler defense can't do to the Ravens what they did to the Rams? I understand this is a week to week league but why does the rules only apply to other teams. The Ravens very well may march into Pittsburgh and escape with a win. But the way people are talking is like there is no chance that the Steelers win this game with Michael Vick. Like none. Basically you could put me out there and the Steelers would have the same chance of beating the Ravens.

It doesn't make any sense. But it doesn't have to I guess. Hopefully Friday, we can all laugh at this.
