Not a surprise, but the Steelers have moved center Maurkice Pouncey to IR- Designated for Return list and have re-signed OL Doug Legursky. Pouncey broke his leg during the Steelers pre-season game against the Green Bay Packers. Former Pittsburgh Steelers OL Legursky was signed shortly thereafter and Cody Wallace was promoted to starting center.
With the yesterday's roster moves, Legursky was temporarily cut, and it is clear the plan was to re-sign him as soon as Pouncey was moved to IR. Since he is Designated for Return, Pouncey can come back to practice after spending six weeks on the Reserved/Injured list. If Pouncey's leg is healed, he could see playing time in the Steeler's week Nine game vs. the Oakland Raiders on November 8 at Heinz Field.
We have also signed C/G Doug Legursky to take Pouncey’s spot on the roster. He will wear No. 64. TRANSACTIONS: http://t.co/WiGpN7X4dr
