Steelers meet with DE Carl Nassib at the NFL Scouting Combine

The Steelers are looking for athletic pass rushers along their front, which would explain them meeting with DE Carl Nassib of Penn State at the NFL Combine.

The Pittsburgh Steelers need to add to their defensive line, and their pass rush. With this being general knowledge, there is no shock then the team sat down to have a formal interview with Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib.

Nassib was the recipient of a fairy tale Senior season where the 6-foot 6-inch end registered 15.5 sacks his last season, his first year as a starter.

The inexperience Nassib has shouldn't down play the tremendous season he had in 2015. When comparing his statistics to Joey Bosa, who most consider the best pass rusher in this crop of prospects, the comparison is certainly valid.

Bosa 2015:
40 Tackles
15 For a Loss
4 Sacks
0 INT
0 FF

Nassib 2015:
46 Tackles
19.5 For a Loss
15.5 Sacks
1 INT
6 FF

Say what you want about the competition both faced, the numbers don't lie. Many project Nassib to be a 2nd or 3rd round draft selection, and if the Steelers would be able to lock up the monstrous Nassib in the early rounds, it would do more than add depth along the defensive line, it would give Keith Butler another weapon in his arsenal. Even If here were to simply be used as a spot player his rookie season, it would give the Steelers a chance to get Cameron Heyward or Stephon Tuitt off the field if they wanted.

Nassib is a player fans should keep an eye on as the Draft process just begins to unfold.
