Entering the 2016 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a number of draft needs which to address. Cornerback, safety, defensive line and even wide receiver were positions of need to help the black and gold get to the next level in 2016. There have been numerous thoughts and debates regarding what the team will do with the 25th overall draft pick, and the debate is finally over.

With that said, the Pittsburgh Steelers have selected cornerback Artie Burns of Miami as their first round draft pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Burns recorded six interceptions in 2015 with the Miami Hurricans and developed a reputation as a physical cornerback in the ACC conference. This addresses the Steelers need at cornerback with the first player to be selected at the position during the first round by Pittsburgh since Chad Scott was selected in 1997.

This leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers' draft needs in the draft with safety, defensive tackle and guard, the foremost mentioned of the two being the primary concerned. Stay tuned to BTSC for further updates.
