The Pittsburgh Steelers kick off their 2016 season when they start the preseason at home against the Detroit Lions. After back-to-back joint practices with Detroit on Tuesday and Wednesday, the games will officially get underway for the black and gold on Friday night.

There is a long list of starters who will not be suiting up for Pittsburgh as they get into their first exhibition action of 2016, but a longer list could exist for players like Artie Burns, Bud Dupree, Ryan Shazier, Markus Wheaton and Travis Feeney who are all nursing injuries.
