Pittsburgh Steelers make pair of roster moves in light of Senquez Golson injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the process of making their roster whole again with the current injury to Senquez Golson. They made two roster moves to help their cause as 2016 approaches.

With the news of cornerback Senquez Golson missing upwards of 12 weeks with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, the Pittsburgh Steelers had to make moves to help their depth in the secondary.

As we reported early this morning, the Steelers have brought in Kevin White Jr. to help add depth at the cornerback position. You can read more on the addition of White in the link above.

As of now, the Steelers have chosen not to place Golson on the Injured Reserve list, so they had to release players to make room for White, as well as Jake Phillips, tight end from UNLV who was also added to the roster. To create room for those players, the Steelers released Mandel Dixon, who was banged up in practice Monday, and Shakim Phillips, who had started the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

The Steelers will practice today at 2:55 p.m. EDT, and Mike Tomlin will address the media regarding Golson's injury following practice.
