Steelers Draft: Final position rankings for the 2017 NFL Draft

I’ve grinded tirelessly to get through every prospect in this class and while I most likely have missed prospects, I was able to get through a lot.

For those who are wondering, my big board is in progress but is not ready yet. It should be done before the NFL draft. For now though, you all get to see my positional rankings.

Also have some players listed at multiple positions.

• Yes, I’m this high on some QBs but understand this, if I want upside over a QB with a noodle arm, I’m picking them over the noodle arm (cough, cough Peterman)
• Why do I like Kaaya more than Trubisky and Kizer? Kizer is a guy who’s high upside for sure but his concerning mechanics bother me. Trubisky’s slow throwing motion which is below average, while having only a good arm, not an elite one is not ideal. Kaaya has solid mechanics and his arm is better than advertised. I like what he does pre and post snap.

• Why do I only have one 1st round grade? RBs are a position where unless you have zero red flags, I do not believe it is smart to take one in the first round. Fournette is not a legendary RB prospect. He’s more like a Demarco Murray to me and that’s a solid pick in round 2. Like Murray though, he’s scheme limited and will have to be in a gap heavy run scheme. He doesn’t read zone blocking well.

• There isn’t much for me to say about the WRs.

• Is there a bigger riser at the TE position than George Kittle? The guy can freaking block you out of the universe and has unbelivable speed to stretch a defense.

• I simply could not get to every offensive linemen in this class. This is the one position I definitely could have done a better job at evaluating. Do not put much into my offensive line rankings.

• Holy cow Chris Wormley tested out the charts for a defensive end that big. His ability to play in and out reminds me of Michael Bennett. He also had very similar numbers to Bennett’s pro day. Wormley is so underrated and I can’t believe it took me this long to figure this out.

• This is a very good edge defender class and I’m honestly surprised how many guys I gave high grades. I personally love this class, I think it’s absolutely fantastic and while some guys like Ejuan Price have moved down, it doesn’t mean I still don’t like them.

• Has anyone had a better pre draft process than Haason Reddick? The dude is explosive, he can bend around the edge, cover big TEs in coverage, his motor is always running and he is just such a versatile chess piece.
• Reuben Foster may have had the worst pre draft process of any prospect. I saw he got a 9 on the wonderlic, I never saw him call plays for Alabama’s defense and his shoulder injuries, combined with his play style are a terrible combination. He’s completely off my board.

• I love this DB class

• I only was able to get to one kicker and Zane is a guy for sure that deserves to get drafted.
