There is no doubt the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the market for a pass rusher, or two, in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft. The question is just who will they be targeting with the 30th pick in the draft?
A lot of that depends on who is available, but you can certainly look at who the team has met with, and brought in for pre-draft visits, to give you a glimpse of who they are interested in.
One prospect the team recently showed an extended interest in, thanks to a private workout, is Alabama’s Tim Williams.

Williams is an explosive player, but has several red flags about him as a prospect, especially with a first round label on him.
Williams was strictly a pass rusher for the Crimson Tide this past season, only coming in on passing downs, and many suggest he struggled to learn and retain the defense. On top of that, Williams’ decision making off the field has been less than stellar. Several reports of drug use could certainly taint his draft stock just a few weeks from the big event.
Nonetheless, the Steelers are doing their homework on him, and it will be worth watching to see if he is one of the 30 prospects who is selected for a pre-draft visit with the Steelers. If he isn’t, there is a good chance the Steelers took a close look, and didn’t like what they saw.
