The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled on the road in 2017, and that’s not exactly breaking news for fans of the Black-and-gold. But don’t tell Las Vegas how this team isn’t as good on the road as they are at home, because they’ve got the Steelers favored on the road against division rival Baltimore Ravens.
The latest spread, per OddsShark, has the Steelers as 3-point favorites heading into M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday. Both teams are coming off losses, but the odds-makers must really be down on the Ravens after their 44-7 loss to the Jaguars in London, compared to the 23-17 overtime loss the Steelers suffered at the hands of the Bears in Week 3.
Check out some information regarding the matchup, per OddsShark:
Pittsburgh Steelers
Over the course of their sensational 9-0 SU and 7-1-1 ATS run late last season, the Steelers averaged 25.9 points per game and scored less than 24 points only once. Since then, Pittsburgh is 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS and averaging 20.2 points per game.
The Steelers should have a nice game tape to study after Jacksonville's slashing of this Baltimore defense, which could help Pittsburgh bounce back from last week's disappointing road loss to the Chicago Bears. Pittsburgh is 5-0 SU in its last five games against its division rivals.
Sunday's total is set at 42 points. The UNDER is 12-2 in Pittsburgh's last 14 early afternoon games.
With the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals both struggling and off to 0-3 SU starts, the AFC North is shaping up to be a two-horse race between these two hated rivals. The Ravens and Steelers don't meet again until Week 14, so this head-to-head clash for early control of the division could help set the tone for the rest of the season.
Each of the last four games in this series have been decided by a touchdown or less, and Sunday's should be another hard fought battle.
These games usually come down to the bitter end, and this game should be no different.
If you like the Steelers giving three points on the road in Baltimore, though, you might want to head to the window soon before the final injury reports are released and the line possibly changes again.
OVER/UNDER for this game: 42 points
