Steelers Injury Report: A usual work week begins for Pittsburgh heading into Week 17

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the Cleveland Browns in Week 17, and although the team is preparing for this upcoming AFC North matchup like a usual work week, it is anything but a normal week.

The Steelers have already locked up a first round bye in the AFC Playoffs, but could still claim the top spot in the AFC Playoff Picture if the Jets are able to upset the Patriots, and the Steelers win their game. If that were to take place, the road to Super Bowl 52 would go through Heinz Field.

But how will the Steelers approach the game with their starters? Antonio Brown is already ruled out of the game with a calf injury, but Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell certainly could take some time off to prevent injury, and make sure they are fresh before the playoff run.

At his Tuesday press conference, Mike Tomlin spoke of entering the game with everyone having the goal of winning the upcoming game. He wouldn’t talk about possibly scoreboard watching, but the fact remains he has to be smart with the players available, considering there are much bigger fish to fry than the 0-15 Browns in the regular season finale.

While Ben Roethlisberger spoke about possibly sitting in the game Sunday, and was given a day off Wednesday, Tomlin isn’t about to tip his hand at what the team might do Sunday.
