Steelers Injury Report: Common sense points to several starters missing Week 17

The Pittsburgh Steelers final injury/game status report suggests a handful of starters won’t be playing on Sunday at Heinz Field.

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t saying whether players like Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, Cameron Heyward and Maurkice Pouncey are playing on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns in Week 17, but common sense shows they won’t be suiting up in the regular season finale.

This is sure to ruffle some black-and-gold fans’ feathers, considering if the Patriots lose to the Jets, and the Steelers beat the Browns, Pittsburgh would claim the top seed in the AFC Playoffs. But Mike Tomlin either doesn’t care, or believes his backups will be good enough to beat the 0-15 Browns.

Either way, although the Steelers’ injury report looks mighty clean, the fact Roethlisberger, Bell, Pouncey and Heyward have all missed the majority of practice this week points to them sitting this one out.
