Another weekend of NFL action awaits, and another interconference matchup is on tap for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After dispatching the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, something the experts predicted would happen, the Steelers take their show on the road in Week 3 to play the Chicago Bears in storied Soldier Field.
Although there have been some memorable games between the Bears and Steelers, who doesn’t remember where they were during the classic snow game, when Jerome Bettis ran over Brian Urlacher en route to Super Bowl XL?
These interconference games can be tough to pick, but experts who make weekly picks for the entire slate of NFL games have submitted their selections, and it’s time we take a look at who they like this Sunday.
Usually, even in the games that seem most lopsided on paper, there are a few brave souls who go against the grain and pick against heavy favorites. But in Week 3, there’s no such expert.
The Steelers are favored by as few as seven points and by as many as 9.5 points on the road in Chicago and, despite Mike Tomlin’s history of losing to teams on the road when the Steelers are favored by a touchdown or more, the experts all like the Steelers.
Yes, you read that correctly, ALL the experts like the Steelers. The experts at ESPN, SB Nation and CBS Sports all like the Black-and-gold to win on the road, advance to 3-0 and start preparing for a jet-lagged Baltimore Ravens team coming home from London in Week 4.
Despite checking those major media outlets for their picks, there are other websites (lots of them actually) that produce weekly picks for the entire NFL schedule of games. This is where our friends at NFL Pick Watch come in. They tabulate all NFL expert picks across the world wide web and put them in one easy-to-read graph for your viewing pleasure.
According to NFL Pick Watch, a whopping 98 percent of the experts are taking the Steelers on the road to stay perfect for another week. The only game which has a higher percentage of certainty is the Green Bay Packers vs. Cincinnati Bengals game, with 100 percent of the experts picking Green Bay to win in Week 3.
Las Vegas likes the Steelers, the experts REALLY like the Steelers, but do you smell a trap game? Are you a person who would rather see the Steelers as underdogs? Only time will tell how this game plays out, but feel free to voice your opinion in the comment section below.
