Steelers Injury Report: Week 3 isn’t looking good for two Pittsburgh starters

The Pittsburgh Steelers had some good news and some bad news after their Thursday practice report was released.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have some key injuries to keep an eye on as the team prepares for their Week-3 tilt with the Chicago Bears. While some news was good, other news was negative, with only one practice remaining before the team heads for the Windy City.

The good news is that both Bud Dupree (shoulder) and Stephon Tuitt (biceps) should both be in the lineup on Sunday for the team’s starting defense. Dupree and Tuitt were both limited on Wednesday, but were full participants on Thursday. Barring a setback, these two dynamic playmakers should be causing havoc on the field when the game kicks off.

As for the bad news, it doesn’t look as good for Marcus Gilbert (hamstring/illness) and T.J. Watt (groin). Gilbert didn’t practice at all this week, and was held out again on Thursday. Unless he has some kind of participation on Friday, he could essentially be ruled out before the weekend. The same can be said for Watt, considering he was limited on Wednesday and sat out Thursday. The team could be taking extra precaution with his groin injury to ensure it doesn’t keep him sidelined for longer than it should.

Other than that, those who missed practice on Wednesday due to illness were back in some way, shape or form on Thursday. The final injury report, with game statuses attached to them, will be released Friday.

Until then, check out both the Pittsburgh and Chicago injury reports below:
