NFL Week 3 Picks: Predicting the winner of Steelers vs. Bears

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears go head-to-head in an interconference showdown. Time to pick the winner.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are prepared to play the Chicago Bears in Week 3 of NFL regular season action, and it is time to predict just how this game will play out.

On paper, the Bears (0-2) and Steelers (2-0) seem as mismatched as ever, but in the NFL anything is possible. As the Steelers go on the road, they are huge road favorites, with the average sport book having Pittsburgh favored by 8-points, a big number for any team traveling. However, when you look at just how loaded the Pittsburgh Steelers offense is, combined with a vastly improved defense, it all makes sense.

The Bears, who have been ravished by injuries, mainly in their receiving corps, will be playing as if their season is on the line, and it likely is considering how competitive the NFC North has become between Chicago, Green Bay, Minnesota and Detroit.

Nonetheless, which team will leave Soldier Field victorious Sunday?

If you ask Steelers fans, they would talk about this being a trap game, especially with the Baltimore Ravens on deck in Week 4, but there is only one way for Steelers players to dispel those narratives — by going into Chicago and taking care of a lesser team.

Could this game be a trap game? Absolutely.

Could this game be a blowout in Pittsburgh’s favor? No doubt about it.

But if you ask me, I think it will be somewhere in between. The Bears know what is on the line, and how starting a season 0-3 could be devastating to any hopes they have of making the postseason this year. With that said, I think the Bears provide a spirited effort, especially in the first half, but in the second half is where Pittsburgh pulls away with the win.

My prediction?

Steelers - 31
Bears - 17
