The honeymoon after the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 6 win over the Kansas City Chiefs was over, and the team was “back in the lab” preparing for the Cincinnati Bengals to come to Heinz Field on Sunday with ideas of ruining the Steelers’ good vibes as leaders in the AFC North division.
When the team got back on the field, there were some players who were watching, rather than practicing. Some, like Marcus Gilbert and his re-injured hamstring, were expected, but some were surprises on, and off, the injury report.
Maurkice Pouncey was on the injury report with a chest injury, and joining him on the sideline were Ramon Foster, with a back injury, and Stephon Tuitt with his own back injury. Tuitt and Pouncey were surprise additions to the report, and if all goes well, they will be back at practice Thursday and ready to go on Sunday.
The other Steelers injury worth noting is Tyler Matakevich. Mike Tomlin stated Matakevich suffered a shoulder injury in Week 6, but Matakevich was a full participant in practice.
What also is worth noting is Vince Williams not being named on the report. It is possible he was accidentally left off the report, or his hip injury which had him exit the Chiefs game was minor and he is ready-to-go in Week 7.
See the full injury report below, and be sure to check back to BTSC for the latest news and notes on these injuries, and more.
(UPDATE: Jim Wexell of Steel City Insider is reporting Vince Williams did NOT practice due to his hip injury.)
