For Pittsburgh, Stephon Tuitt was ruled out with a back injury which flared up after the Week 6 win vs. the Chiefs. The loss of Tuitt is huge considering how dominant Tuitt has been in both run stopping, as well as rushing the passer. It will be up to a combination of Tyson Alualu and L.T. Walton to hold the standard of success on Sunday.
Tackle Marcus Gilbert is listed as doubtful, and no one expects Gilbert to play Sunday after re-aggravating his hamstring injury for the third time last week in Kansas City. With this nagging injury keeping him out of the lineup, it has been Chris Hubbard who has filled in admirably at the right tackle position.
Other than Gilbert and Tuitt, several injured players who missed time throughout the work week were left off the report — meaning they will likely play. One of those players is inside linebacker Vince Williams. Williams, who hurt his hip during the Week 6 game, missed Wednesday and Thursday’s practice, but practiced fully Friday and told the Steelers official website, "I am full go." If Williams weren’t able to play, Tyler Matakevich would be the one filling in alongside Ryan Shazier.
As for the Bengals, they will be without Tyler Boyd, a Pittsburgh product, and Ryan Hewett. But more importantly, cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones is listed as doubtful for the game Sunday at Heinz Field. Jones does a great job vs. Antonio Brown, and him missing the contest would be huge for the Steelers’ offense.
