The Pittsburgh Steelers have had themselves two solid weeks, and they hope to continue to stack wins with a Week-8 victory over the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. After beating the formerly unbeaten Chiefs in Week 6, and grabbing a home divisional win against the Bengals in Week 7, the Steelers are riding high and Las Vegas likes them in Week 8 too.
The early line on the Steelers vs. Lions has Pittsburgh as 3-point favorites to win before heading into their bye week, this per BookMaker.
Detroit is 3-3 on the season, losing two straight games before heading into their bye week, plus they’re one banged-up bunch. Although coming off a bye week, something the Steelers had to face in Week 7 when the Bengals were coming off a bye, the Lions likely will have their hands full with a budding Steelers’ offense, and a dominant defense.
Per MLive.com, “The all-time series between the Lions and Steelers has been tight overall, as Pittsburgh holds a 16-14-1 edge. The Steelers have dominated the series in more recent seasons, however, having won 12 of the last 14 since 1966.
“Detroit and Pittsburgh last played in 2013 at Heinz Field, where the Steelers won 37-27. In the teams' only other meeting at Ford Field, in 2009, the Steelers pulled out a 28-20 victory.”
Some may have this contest as being more strongly in the Steelers’ favor, but Vegas is keeping it relatively close — for now. If you like the Steelers going on the road and winning by more than 3-points, you might want to head to the window and place your bet before these odds change.
