Remember when fans were ridiculously excited to see Martavis Bryant and Eli Rogers tear up defenses in 2017? Yeah, those were the days...
But despite the wide receiver duo not contributing much production the past few months for the Black-and-gold, they both will have a chance to prove their worth on Sunday night vs. the Packers with rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster officially ruled out of the upcoming game with a hamstring injury.
With Smith-Schuster out, Rogers will see increased snaps in the slot, while Bryant will resume his usual role on the outside opposite Antonio Brown. A great opportunity for both players to step up their game and make plays.
Smith-Schuster isn’t the only Steelers player ruled out. Vance McDonald (ankle) has been ruled out of the game, along with Joe Haden (fibula). The only other injury listed was the ankle of Mike Mitchell, which has him listed as questionable.
If the Steelers’ injury report looks small, it might be due to the fact the Packers have a lot of players listed on theirs leading up to Sunday Night Football. Key injuries to watch will be Clay Matthews, Ty Montgomery and Kenny Clark. The trio didn’t practice once this week, but still are considered possibilities to play this Sunday.
