With the 8-2 Steelers returning to action after a long rest following their awakening against Tennessee, the faculty and staff at BTSC filled out report cards based on the team's performance in their tough test against a depleted Green Bay squad. Join us and see just how well they graded out.
Offense: B
Valedictorian: Antonio Brown
Honor Roll: Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell, Chris Hubbard, Martavis Bryant, Jesse James, Chris Boswell, Todd Haley
Detention: Eli Rogers
I'm waiting for Antonio Brown to show up with round glasses, an English accent, a robe and a lightning bolt fried into his head. He's an absolute wizard and he saved the day. Ben looks increasingly better each quarter and his passes were more on target and he ran like the Ben of old. Le’Veon Bell averaged 4.8 yards per carry and was money with 12 catches and 183 total yards. Bryant rejuvenated the kick-return game and both he and James made key grabs. Todd Haley's game plan was more imaginative than usual. Boswell from 53 was a beaut.
Defense: C
Valedictorian: Cameron Heyward
Honor Roll: T.J. Watt, Stephon Tuitt
Detention: Artie Burns, Mike Mitchell, Coty Sensabaugh, Bud Dupree, Keith Butler
The secondary was awful. It shows how imperative a healthy Joe Haden is. Bud Dupree looks lackluster. Steelers Nation expected more out of Alvin this year. Keith Butler's defense wasn't sharp, but they held up when they needed to the most. Heyward was lights-out and Watt is an athletic marvel.
Overall: B-
The bottom line is that it's a win that got them to 9-2. It doesn't have to be pretty to to be beautiful.
