The Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars will square off in Week 5 of NFL regular season action, and when it comes to betting action, the home team is considered a huge favorite in this AFC showdown.
While the Steelers, hosting the Jaguars at Heinz Field, are considered huge home favorites, will they win and cover against the spread (ATS)?
Here’s what Oddshark had to say via SB Nation:
Underdog picks for the adventurous gambler
Jaguars (+7.5) over STEELERS
Am I smart to pick the Jaguars? Probably not. But the Jaguars defense is good enough that they just might be able to cover against a Steelers offense that still hasn’t reached its full potential.
The Jags are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, and 5-2 against the spread in their last seven.
The opening line on this game started a 9-points for Pittsburgh, but has slowly moved south till it settled anywhere around 8-points. There are some sport books still showing 8-points or 8.5-points. Either way, all books have the Steelers as at least a touchdown favorite on Sunday.
As experts weighed in on this contest this week, they clearly favor the Steelers in this AFC matchup, and Vegas agrees.
While most believe the Steelers should clearly win the straight up (SU) matchup, the question is whether they’ll cover. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
