Steelers Report Card: Grading the Steelers pathetic Week 5 performance against the Jags

BTSC uncaps the red pens and grades the Steelers Week- 5 home debacle against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Beware, it’s not pretty.

Apparently, nobody told Ben Roethlisberger that the Steelers were returning home to play the enigmatic Jacksonville Jaguars, because "Road Ben" was out in epic fashion. The faculty and staff at BTSC filled out report cards based on the team's performance. The results were so bad they made an onion want to cry.

Join us and see just how well they graded out. But you probably already know.

Offense: F

With apologies to Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown who put in solid performances, I cannot in good conscience give out a grade higher than an “F.” If I could go lower, I would. Chris Hubbard was absolutely horrendous and Ben Roethlisberger is playing the worst football of his career.

Honor Roll: Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell

Detention: Chris Hubbard, Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Tomlin's red flag decisions

Defense: B-

The defense was really good today. They’re still getting killed on the edges by opposing running backs but, for the most part, this unit is the pride of the team right now.

Honor Roll: Ryan Shazier, T.J. Watt, Artie Burns

Detention: Run Defense

Special Teams: C

Danny Smith's unit seems lethargic. They looked like they could have had a block early on, but they missed barely. The punting of Jordan Berry is poor as of late and the return game is all but invisible. When they do make some semblance of a return, it's raining yellow.

Honor Roll: Chris Boswell

Detention: Jordan Berry, the lifeless return game

Overall: F

Anytime you're a 9-point favorite and lose a game at home in this manner, it's nothing but a complete failure. They need to play inspired football next week or this thing could go off the rails in a hurry.
