Steelers ILB Vince Williams injures leg vs. Chiefs

The starting ILB left the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury.

NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers saw inside linebacker Vince Williams leave the field at the beginning of the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury. He was replaced by Tyler Matakevich, who stayed in the game for the team’s fourth-and-goal stand.

Matakevich remained in the game for the Steelers on their next defensive possession.

Williams was having a tremendous game, with two sacks and several key stops in run defense, and his shoes will be tough to fill for the black-and-gold.

When the team updates the injury on Williams, we will update the story, but for now it seems like Matakevich, who they call ‘Dirty Red’, will get his chance alongside Ryan Shazier.
