Steelers Injury Report: Some big names added to Pittsburgh’s injury list

The Pittsburgh Steelers had some big-name players added to the injury report after Thursday’s practice.

The Pittsburgh Steelers seemed to have an injury report which many would view as favorable after their Wednesday practice. Players like Joe Haden and Tyler Matakevich returned to the practice field, even though on a limited basis, but getting them back on the field was a huge step in the right direction.

As the team hit the practice field on Thursday, though, some big names were added to the injury report as the session wrapped up. JuJu Smith-Schuster was limited with a hamstring injury, an injury which kept him out of the Week-12 game vs. the Packers, and Maurkice Pouncey was limited with a hip injury.

Other than that, the injury report was pretty much status quo. Matakevich and Haden practiced again, but were limited, and Martavis Bryant (not injury related) and Stephon Tuitt (illness) returned to the practice field Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice.

For the second-straight day, Vance McDonald and Coty Sensabaugh both missed due to shoulder injuries, which puts more pressure on Haden’s availability. If Haden and Sensabaugh are ruled out, it would leave Cameron Sutton, Artie Burns, William Gay, Mike Hilton and Brian Allen as the only healthy defensive backs on the game-day roster.

Check out the full injury report below, with the Patriots’ listing half of their active roster as “limited” after Thursday’s practice. Also, be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the final injury reports before the huge AFC showdown on Sunday at Heinz Field.
