The Steelers and Titans are both in the rapid preparation phase of the short week before a Thursday Night Football game, and one of the biggest factors in the success or failure of a team on Thursdays is their health.
While Pittsburgh has been ridiculously healthy throughout the first half of the season, the injury bug hit them hard in Week 10. Joe Haden (broken fibula) is already out, and James Harrison and Mike Mitchell were limited in practice Tuesday. Throw in Martavis Bryant (illness) and Vance McDonald (ankle) both missing practice, and you have quite a few players listed on the injury report without much time to heal before the next game.
At least the Steelers don’t have to travel, but it seems as if Tennessee won’t have to worry about injuries before they head to Heinz Field, since they have no players listed as “did not practice” or even “limited.” They’re a healthy team, and that can make all the difference when forced into duty on short rest.
