The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding talent to their roster via the 2017 NFL Draft, but they also might be adding talent in the form of free agency as well. The aforementioned talent would be none other than former cornerback Keenan Lewis, who was released by the New Orleans Saints prior to last season due to injury issues.

It seems as if the Steelers are at least taking a look at Lewis, most likely from a health standpoint. Lewis has had his share of injuries, but his hip has been the biggest problem facing his potential return to the field.
The Steelers doing their due diligence with Lewis shouldn’t come as a shock, but also should be something fans enjoy seeing. Leave no stone unturned when it comes to potential talent would could help the team get to the Super Bowl in 2017.
If Pittsburgh chose to sign Lewis to a team-friendly deal, the question would then become where he plays? Who would go?
Take a look at the team’s depth chart as of Saturday, heading into Day 3 of the draft:
Artie Burns
Ross Cockrell
William Gay
Coty Sensabaugh
Senquez Golson *
Al-Hajj Shabazz
Cameron Sutton (Rookie)
Adding Lewis to this mix would likely mean the end of the road for two players on the depth chart. Wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, but the Steelers are clearly keeping their options open heading into 2017.
