Ask a Phin Fan

Congrats on another good season to you guys. With most of my family Steeler fans, I have become a little bit of a fan of Pittsburgh (except for when they play my Dolphins). We are thrilled with how our season turned out and how we have over-achieved our talent level (especially with all the injuries we have had). I was hoping we could have some friendly banter and questions about the game Sunday.

Here is my view of the Steelers (and I am sure you guys will correct me) and why I think it will be more competitive than Vegas thinks:

The Steelers have an elite QB, but not a very mobile one or one who makes a living on the short passing game. You have one of (if not the best) RB's in the NFL in Bell and a pretty good offensive line. Antonio Brown is one of my favorite players in the NFL and I believe a top 5 WR.

I have not been impressed with the defense, although they are improving from last season and even late in this season. DB's are young, but getting better. LB's are athletic, but undersized.

Miami is not nearly as talented as Pittsburgh! But I feel we do have some matchups that are decidedly in our favor. Our DL is elite and if given the chance does very well with pocket passers (especially those that tend to hold the ball and look for the deep shot). While the rest of our defense is almost pure garbage, we too have young Corners that are improving and should at least play decent against the WR's you have (no one stop's Brown, but we hope not to get embarrassed by him). We also run the ball pretty well against most teams and have 3 very talented WR's that make our QB's look pretty good. If teams stack the box, Moore and Tannehill (think you will be seeing Moore) are capable of giving our WR's a chance. Our OL is pretty good as well.

Well, fire away and I will attempt to give as unbiased answers as I can. I think we can all agree that whoever takes this game better beat the Patriots!!!!
