In what should come as a shock to no one, the Pittsburgh Steelers brass was in attendance for Alabama’s Pro Day Wednesday.
Per Chase Goodbread of the NFL Network, both Mike Tomlin and General Manager Kevin Colbert, among others, were both present to watch the Crimson Tide work out on the 7th.

Being in attendance at Pro Days doesn’t necessarily scream interest. After all, coaches and scouts are at nearly every Pro Day. Nonetheless, when the head coach and GM are both in attendance it certainly gets your attention.
So, what athletes were they watching closely?
According to our Pre-Draft Visit Tracker, the Steelers met with the following Alabama players at the NFL Scouting Combine this past weekend:
Alabama LB — Shaun Dion Hamilton
Alabama LB — Rashaan Evans
Alabama DL — Da’Ron Payne
Alabama DB — Minkah Fitzpatrick
Alabama Safety — Ronnie Harrison
Not that those athletes were the only ones the team was attracted to, but it is clear the interest is there for those particular players. It should be noted the last player the Steelers drafted from Alabama was Deshea Townsend, but they certainly are doing their diligence with the National Champion Crimson Tide this offseason.
