Another week down, and another member of the Pittsburgh Steelers free agent class officially signed. The team has continued to sign several free agents, and most recently offensive lineman B.J. Finney.
B.J. Finney signs a one-year contract to remain with the Steelers. He was the top interior reserve on the O-line.

Finney is just the latest player along the team’s offensive line to be brought back into the fold for at least next season. Realizing it is unlikely the team will be able to re-sign Chris Hubbard, they signed Matt Feiler and hope Jerald Hawkins can hold down the tackle positions for depth.
Finney is the player who is truly versatile on the interior of the line. Finney has played both guard positions, as well as center, and has become a very valuable commodity within the offensive line ranks.
How important? Some are suggesting the team could cut ties with Ramon Foster to allow the Steelers to save cap space, and gain a more athletic guard in Finney. While this might be a long shot, Finney returning is a great sign for a team who wants to keep as many offensive pieces together as possible as they try to push for that long awaited seventh Super Bowl trophy.
