Steelers Injury Report: Marcus Gilbert sits out while Darrius Heyward-Bey and Xavier Grimble are limited

But there was more encouraging news with the return of Morgan Burnett and L.J. Fort as full participants at practice on Wednesday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers injury report was full of good news on Wednesday, with just one player listed as missing practice due to injury. However, that name was not one of the trio many might have expected to see, while two of the players carrying more notable injuries made surprise returns to training as full participants.

Marcus Gilbert finds himself sidelined by a knee injury as the rest of his teammates prepare to face the Cleveland Browns and this is not the first time has missed practice time this season because of this issue. Despite having missed the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 because of a hamstring injury, Gilbert has still managed to play each week even when bothered by this recurring issue and it can only be hoped that will be the case once again on Sunday.

Although Maurkice Pouncey was the beneficiary of his customary veteran rest day, it appears Ben Roethlisberger was not and it will be interesting to note if he does not take one this week coming off the bye.

The welcome return of Morgan Burnett and L.J. Fort as full participants was rather unexpected and their progress will be something to follow as they get closer to game day. If they can repeat the feet on Thursday and Friday, their chances of playing on Sunday will be high.

Darrius Heyward-Bey continues to struggle with an ankle problem and his status remains in doubt for Week 8, as does that of Xavier Grimble who presumably picked up a concussion in training on Monday and will now be under the watchful eye of the medical staff.
