The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Oakland for a matchup with the Raiders on Sunday at a venue that have not won in since 1995. But despite their opponent sporting a 2-10 record this season, there can be few fans expecting an easy victory for Pittsburgh. Back-to-back losses have dented the Steelers’ postseason ambitions and they are now playing for a place in the playoffs, rather than fighting for home field advantage.

While there are few things that Oakland has done right this season, they have rushed for more yards than Pittsburgh in 2018. Although that does not say much about a unit ranked 22nd overall, given the Steelers rank 29th. The real struggles for the Raiders have come on defense and they currently rank 28th in the league giving up almost 400-yards a game. A run defense giving up 153.2 yards a game might be their biggest weakness, but without James Conner in the lineup, Pittsburgh is less likely be able to exploit this issue than other teams have.

If not for their last two losses, this contest would have trap game written all over it with the New England Patriots next up on the schedule. But in light of their recent defeats, it would be unthinkable to imagine the Steelers are not focused for this one, even if fan optimism is rather low.
