As of Monday morning, when James Harrison announced his retirement, media outlets around the NFL all said something very similar:
“James Harrison retires...again”
After Harrison’s 2014 retirement, then return to the Steelers until the 2017 season, a second retirement typically doesn’t get as much attention. Nonetheless, despite how Harrison left the Steelers for the New England Patriots last season, plenty of his current, and former, teammates took to social media to congratulate him on a great career.
While some of the more vocal players to denounce Harrison after he left, like Maurkice Pouncey and Bud Dupree, have yet to offer their congratulations, you can tell Harrison left an indelible mark on the organization, and not just the record books.
See what players had to say about the man they called “Deebo” on social media following his retirement announcement:

Thankfully I never got the pleasure of being tackled by James Harrison. They always held him out of camp.
