Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers love heart. They love faithfulness. And they also love honesty.
This is probably a large reason why linebacker Vince williams has become a fan favorite in the Steel City. Williams plays hard, and keeps it as real as possible on social media off the field. His Twitter account is about as honest as you will get — win, lose or draw.
Anyone who follows Steelers news on social media knows just how difficult the offseason has been for the fan base. After the AFC Divisional Round loss to the Jaguars at Heinz Field, the faithful turned hateful. Fans were upset, and rightfully so, but Williams reminds fans players go through the same emotions as the fans, if not worse.
What Williams did on Sunday was take to Twitter with a simple message:
Let’s stick together. Players, coaches and fans alike.
