The Pittsburgh Steelers surprised everyone when they went in a completely different direction than most expected when they selected Terrell Edmunds, safety from Virginia Tech, in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
What might be the most memorable part of Edmunds’ selection had nothing to do with the safety playing football. Rather, it had everything to do with Ryan Shazier walking to the podium to announce the selection. Even after the pick, Deion Sanders could hardly ask Edmunds any questions after witnessing Shazier do what some thought could be impossible.
This isn’t to take away from Shazier and his amazing feat, but many fans didn’t get a feel for the player the Steelers just spent their top pick on.
Luckily for fans, Edmunds spoke with the Steelers official website and talked about family, football and his new NFL home in the Steel City. Check out the interview below, and welcome Edmunds to the black-and-gold family!
