For a lucky few, an invitation to rookie minicamp can turn into employment. This was the case for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they signed a pair of players to their 90-man offseason roster, while releasing one player.
We have signed WR Damoun Patterson and OL R.J. Prince.

The additions:
WR Damoun Patterson (Youngstown State)
OL R.J. Prince (North Carolina)
The subtraction:
OT Ikenna Nwokeji
While these players have a steep uphill climb to make the team’s 53-man roster, they at least have a shot. In recent years, the team has seen some undrafted players turn into regular starters for the team.
Offensive guard Ramon Foster was undrafted out of Tennessee, reserve lineman B.J. Finney was undrafted out of Kansas State and Mike Hilton was undrafted out of Ole Miss. All three of these players have a role on the team, and there is nothing to suggest one of the above players can’t pull of the unthinkable and turn some heads.
The 90-man offseason roster is incredibly fluid, and will be changing a lot between now and training camp. Be sure to stay glued to BTSC for the latest news on the Steelers’ roster, and more, heading into the 2018 regular season.
